Investing in decentralisation
Hey! Thanks for opening another edition of my newsletter. This week I talk about the investment you need to make when decentralising.

Want great, practical advice on implementing data mesh, data products and data contracts?
In my weekly newsletter I share with you an original post and links to what's new and cool in the world of data mesh, data products, and data contracts.
I also include a little pun, because why not? 😅
(Don’t worry—I hate spam, too, and I’ll NEVER share your email address with anyone!)
Love to read the little tidbits of insight and advice! The fact everything is both short and to-the point makes it actionable and easy to implement. Of course it's clear that Andrew goes deep on data contracts, data products and all the minute details. But as someone once said, the people who really get things are the ones that can package it in a clear language! Focusing a lot on the (actually hard) aspects around driving changes in culture and people.
Special thanks for your newsletter. It is always on point with the problems we are trying to tackle.
Highly recommended newsletter when drafting a business strategy that is "shifting left" in the data tech stack.

Hey, hope you had a good week!
This week I’ve published an in-depth article on shifting left, which is previewed below and available in full on the Confluent blog, plus links on docs-as-code, a new release of ODCS, and data exploration with DuckDB and Rill.
Hey everyone! In today’s newsletter I write about how data quality is really about incentives. There’s links to posts on shifting left and right, and to an interesting interview with Snowflake CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy by Ben Thompson. Finally there’s a particularly silly pun…
Hey, hope you’ve had a great week! First, a couple of things from me.
The early bird pricing for my June implementing data contracts workshop in Belgium ends Monday! Would love to see you there :)
Data contracts are such a simple and flexible pattern that can be applied to many different use cases. These include:
Happy Pi Day! Hope you’ve had a good week.
Today I have a small post on starting small, before 3 great reads, and a barely legal pun. Enjoy!
Hi all, hope you had a great week!
Today I’m writing about applying data contracts to legacy applications and using them to monitor data quality and assign ownership of the data to the application owner.
Hey 👋
Well done on making it through February! Next week is one of my favourite days of the year — pancake day 🥞. This is my go to recipe.
Hey everyone, hope you had a good week! Today’s post is on changing your environment.
Data contacts has always been about solving the problem of tightly coupled data integrations.
In fact, my first public post on data contracts back in 2021 was all about replacing a tightly coupled data integration (change data capture) with data contracts.
